Vision rehabilitation
Vision rehabilitation restores independence through adaptive training, low-vision devices, and environmental modifications. This specialized program empowers individuals with irreversible vision loss to safely perform daily tasks, maintain employment, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Overview
Vision Rehabilitation is a comprehensive, non-medical treatment process designed for individuals who have experienced vision loss that cannot be corrected by surgery, glasses, or contact lenses. Rather than restoring eyesight to "normal," our program focuses on maximizing the use of remaining vision and other senses to maintain a high quality of life.
Our multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, low-vision specialists, and orientation/mobility experts collaborate to address the physical, psychological, and social impacts of visual impairment. We treat patients with conditions such as Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, and Retinitis Pigmentosa, providing them with the tools to navigate the world confidently.
